Three Clever Decorating Projects for the 4th of July

The Maids • Jun 30, 2013

It’s almost Independence Day, and in a beautiful sea of red, white, and blue, it can seem hard to come up with an original idea for decorating. However, there are some great ideas that can go a long way in making your party look decorative and creative, and they aren’t too difficult.

If you’re looking for a last minute idea, try one of these:

Easy Floral Centerpiece

This one is a piece of cake to throw together, and will make your tables look put together and elegant.

Put several cut white and red roses into a bowl or vase, then add two small American flags. Tie a red, white, or blue ribbon around the vase—and that’s all you need to do! The centerpieces will look like you spent a lot of time on them, but you don’t have to.

Bottle Cap Wreath

Looking for something a little more crafty? Try this. Spray paint bottle caps in red, white, and blue, then glue them to a Styrofoam wreath, available at your local craft supply store.

Add a ribbon to the top for hanging and suddenly you have a custom patriotic wreath you made with just a little bit of work.

Edible Decorations

This is a fun idea for any party—decorations that contain food!

Take two glass containers and add red, white, and blue candy to the bottom of them. Top them off with fruit kabobs or marshmallows on a stick ready to be roasted.

When the kabobs are gone, the guests will still have candy there to eat!
