Clean This! A Few Things That Are Often Overlooked

Written by

There are a lot of things in your house that need some cleaning, but how often do you remember some of the stuff you don’t readily see? Maid services play a big role in keeping your house clean, but there are a few places you might want to hit between cleanings.

If you can’t remember the last time you cleaned one of these, now is the time!

House Plants. Yes, believe it or not, your house plants quickly and easily collect dust. Thankfully, there’s an incredibly easy way to fix this: carry your small plants to the bathtub and turn on the shower (on low). This will help wash of the dust and you can do several plants at once.

Not to mention that your plants will probably enjoy the “rain!”

Lamp Shades. They sit there on your lamps, unassuming and decorative, but they, too, collect massive amounts of dust. Take a lint roller to them to get dust and debris off quickly and easily.

While you’re at it, take a microfiber cloth and quickly wipe down the bulb and the base—that way, your lamp will be completely dust free.

The Doors. When people house clean, they often forget things like doors—you get so used to seeing them you forget that they are like any other surface in your house, and in fact, harbor quite a few germs on the door knob in addition to fingerprints on the door itself.

A quick dusting with a microfiber cloth is often all it takes to get the door looking great again!
