It's Time For Organizational Upgrades

The Maids • Nov 25, 2013

Organization is important and you try to keep things organized along with the housekeeping duties, nut there is always room for improvement if you want a more efficient household. It can be annoying to have to waste time searching for something you know you have and not having much luck. Many items get tossed around in various rooms, like tools, watches, batteries, remotes, toy pieces, office supplies, broken parts and pieces, etc. Some of the most common items are listed below.

ELECTRONIC ACCESSORIES

Electronic accessories end up everywhere in the home. You often ask where the remote went or where the video cables are. If you have game consoles, that also can have you skirmishing around looking for a game, a controller, a cable, or even an accessory related to the console. A cabinet or a large drawer on a table or fixture works great to keep all those items together when not in use.

KID TOYS

Kid toys usually contain many pieces and parts. When it comes to kids, you know how hard it is to keep everything together. It can be easy to miss something when picking up and sometimes, the items or pieces get transported to another room to sit. Things like Legos, Play-Doh, and toy kitchens for instance carry many smaller parts. Aside from the toy parts, broken or damaged parts often get kept. They get stashed somewhere until you either have time to fix them or you get the items you need to fix them. In many cases, they never get fixed. In fact, the broken pieces get mixed in with other things and cannot be found when needed. Regardless, toys can create a lot of clutter so working on better organization will help reduce the messes and lost items. The best method here is to use small totes and you can even use small containers for things like puzzles, which usually come in cardboard boxes and get mangled up. You can cut the image out of the damaged box that don’t stack well and paste it on the top of the small container. It will make things look better and make it easier for cleanup for both you and the kids.
