Get Rid Of Odors in Shower Towels

Written by

Once you've thrown a load of towels in the washing machine, you go to throw them in the dryer and discover that they have a smell to them. You're too busy with house cleaning to deal with smelly towels, right? You begin to think that your dryer will eliminate the odor, once the towels are dry. But suddenly, you discover that it didn't do the trick. Unfortunately, the dryer did not solve the problem and the odor is still there.

You may have attempted to wash them more than once before tossing in the dryer, but it didn't seem to eliminate the problem, right? No matter how many times you wash those towels, no matter what type they are; the residues that get left behind build up. Every time they get washed, regardless of getting dried or not, the residue continues to build up. The buildup prevents water from penetrating deep inside the towels, which turns into missed areas that odors (bacteria) like to hide.

Don't toss your towels away because there is an actual way to renew them to almost new condition. Why waste all that money when you don’t have to?

This nifty tip begins with washing in hot water. Use a cup of vinegar as opposed to detergent or fabric softener. Only use vinegar given that laundry room soap or fabric softeners can conflict with the vinegar. When finished, do yet another round in hot water. Just as before, do not add any laundry detergent or fabric softener. For this round of hot water, add half a cup of baking soda. When the clothes washer is done, toss the rest room towels in the clothing dryer. Once the clothes dryer stops, you will get great smelling bath towels.

Take note that if problems still persist, the washing machine is most likely at fault. In that case, you will need some clothes washer freshening treatment. They are acquirable at most of the suppliers who offer automatic washers and frequently can be bought in tablet form. Stick to the freshener operating instructions completely, since this is not a regular wash cycle. Check your manufacturer's guidelines or instructions to ensure proper use. You can usually find instructions for your washer on the manufacturer's website.
